Members of the Mosman Park Tennis Club held a cocktail party last Saturday to celebrate the installation of a brand new patio, provided by the Town of Mosman Park.
The party was attended by Town Councillors, staff, the President of Tennis West and Club members, all of whom enjoyed the new addition to the Club’s function area.
The Town of Mosman Park worked with the local club to expand the clubhouse so that tennis and social activities could also take place outside.
Mosman Park Tennis Club President David Knox said Club members wanted to be able to use the area any time of the year, in any weather.
“The patio now provides us with shelter from the sun and rain and is a great space for social functions.
“Our coaches use the area to run tennis activities, and we use it for afternoon tea, drinks, and social events,” he said.
Town of Mosman Park Mayor Brett Pollock said he was delighted that the Town was able to work in partnership with the Club to improve the building, enhance its usefulness and attract more users of the venue.
“This is a venue that now has a function area that has doubled in size. Not only is it great for the Club, but it also provides community members with an indoor/outdoor space for social events. What could be better than hitting a few tennis balls, and then relaxing in the shade for a chat with friends old and new,” Mayor Pollock said.
Mosman Park Tennis Club welcomes new members of all ages and abilities and offers the clubhouse for hire. For more information, visit their Facebook page at facebook.com/mosmanparktennisclub or call 0426 206 468.
